Use Internet on BlackBerry without BIS Plan

On most of the BlackBerry cell phones BIS Plan (BlackBerry Internet Service Plan) is required to use internet. BIS Plan is offered by various cellular companies on postpaid connection and its cost is starting from Rs.500 plus security.

Now if you have a BlackBerry set and dnt have BIS Plan than no need to worry. we will tell you how to use internet on BlackBerry set without BIS Plan so Cheer up. Just you need a BlackBerry handset and active Internet connection on your number. Keep in mind The BlackBerry Application wont work on it and you need third parties Softwares Like WhatApp (Click to Download) , OperaMini (Click to Download).




Here is the Tutotial

Step - 01

Go to Menu > options > Advanced Options > TCP/IP









Step 02: Write The APN (Access Point Name)












APN (Access Point Name) is different for All Mobile Networks. If you dnt know you can ask your Mobile Netowork Operators. I am writing here the APN for Different Mobile Companies for your convenience.

Pakistan

      1. Warid  =  wap.warid
      2. Ufone =  ufone.internet
      3. Telenor = wap

India

  1. Airtel – airtelgprs.com
  2. Vodafone – www / portalnmms / web (any 1)
  3. Idea – internet
  4. BSNL – celloneportal
  5. MTNL – mmsmtnlmum / gprsmtnlmum

    Howto setup this on blackberry 8800... there is a option for tcp then there is no such checkboxes.. it just asks apn, username for apn and password for apn... since i am using idea sim so i entered internet as apn then saved it and got back... but my opera mini is not working nor any other third party app... please help me.

    i m using blackberry 9800 and airtel for network....as per instructions i entered the apn and all applications started working whats app and opera...bt after sometime it stopped on its own...den after restarting my phone they again start working but stopped after a while..what shall i do..please help me....

    How to use facebook app after entering APN user name n password.
    its a third party app. but still shows data service msg.
    however i am using curve 9320 and whatsapp work after entering APN.

    using curve 8520, the settings works sometimes (only opera) , then stops working, also, i need to use whats app but unable to download as default BB browser does not work and can not install any apps from using opera.

    In bb9360, vodafone it is not working properly, it works only few hours after start phone, than it stop working again after restart it is working.

    i m using blackberry 9220 and airtel for network.I entered the apn and all applications started working whats app and opera.But after sometime it stopped on its own.Then after restarting my phone it again starts working but stopped after a while.What should i do.please help!!!!

    i have bb curve 8520. i was using airtel bb data plan but today i got 2g internet recharge done (airtel) and changed the settings as er your settings, whatsapp worked for a while like 5 mins then it stopped. customer care executives are also not providing any information. pls help, how should i go about it.

    It worked on my BB 9650. I am able to use internet without BIS. Thanks a lot for this!!

    1 issue though: My whatsapp works fine for 20 mins after a hard restart. But then stops working. All other apps also behave similarly. But i am still able to continue browsing on the browser.. only the apps are failing.. i have to restart phone every 30 mins or so and each restart takes 2 mins :( .. any help is greatly appreciated.

      Option -> Advance option -> TCP/IP -> click on APN Settings enabled -> on APN type TATA.DOCOMO.INTERNET

    I m using idea and I stay in india. I have put the APN as internet. It shows the edge in capital but still the applications are not working. Whatsapp worked for sometime but stopped again. What should i do to make it work.

    I've BB 9720 and its awsome.... Currently I've configured multiple e-mail IDs on my phone and are working fine with BIS plan of IDEA India..... I want an answer to one question.... If I deactivate my BIS plan and went back to regular 2G GPRS plan, will I be able to access my e-mails..... If yes then advise how.....

    Plss help..i hav a bold 9700 and a bsnl sim....the browser config. Is bsnl wap....i did the apn stuff and made it celloneportal...but then when i open the bsnlwap browser...it says..http..cannot reach the server...
